The vendor has provided the following:

4-door Sedan B-body

400 cubic-inch (6.6 litre) Big-Block 4 barrel, 8 cylinder

V8 'High Performance' Chrysler B engine 195bhp

(numbers matching with Police 'heavy duty' special handling package)

(3-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission & power steering as standard)

The police special handling package consists of HEAVY DUTY transmission, power front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, radiator, & suspension ( leaf springs, shock absorbers, torsion bar, sway bars)

The vehicle comes with a spare set of keys and a USB stick containing 700 photos of the full restoration

This car has had 3 previous owners from new and the person I bought it from bought it from his father who was friends with the original owner (John Zunino). The original owner was a mechanic employee at 'Dutch Stenovich Motors' Chrysler in Elko, Nevada, USA and so when he ordered his own personal Plymouth Fury, he ordered it with the Police special handling package fitted as an option (as only a Police Department or Chrysler employees were allowed to do so) which makes this car very rare as it's a civilian ordered car but has the Police package option (although was never owned or used by the police). This car was first registered in Elko, Nevada and it stayed there until 2012 before then going to Hobbs, New Mexico, USA.

I bought this car in September 2013 and it arrived in the UK in November 2013.

The car had only covered a genuine 46,000 miles from new.

The car was built at Plymouth Assembly Plant, Lynch Road, Detroit, Michigan, in February 1978.

The original paint colour from the factory on this car was 'Tapestry Red Sunfire Metallic' but the car re-sprayed 'Ford Fleet White' in May 2015 as this is the exact paint code & colour that was used on the Patrol cars on 'The Dukes of Hazzard' TV show.

The interior of this car was also originally 'Red' but to make this car the perfect replica possible I had to change the interior to the colour 'Tan'.

The 1981 Federal Signal Aerodynic light bar on this car was originally on a Fire Chiefs car in Pennsylvania, USA and had red lenses and so those were changed to the correct red & blue lenses.

Police History

98,613 4-door sedan (Seveth generation) Plymouth Fury's were built in 1978 and this particular year was considered one of the finest and best-loved Mopar Police squad cars ever built of all time and captured 80% of the Police car market in the US. It beat the best of its competition in all Police tests.

1978 was the Fury's final year of production of the Big-Block and this 400 cubic-inch engine had a top speed of 119MPH (0-60MPH = 10.4 seconds)

The Dukes of Hazard TV show (1979 - 1985)

1977/78 Plymouth Fury's were used on the show from early Season 4 until the show ended after Season 7. A total of just over 1,000 Police cars were used and wrecked during the 6 years the show aired for, as were 300+ General Lee's.
