This is a first-generation XR3, manufactured for a relatively short period of time from late 1980 through to the end of 1981 early 1982. This example was registered manufactured in 1981 and registered in January 1982. It was imported from South Africa in 2014 and fully restored with all its original panels. It is in iconic sunburst red and retains the original colour plate. It is fitted with genuine period RS 1600i wheels and tyres. The car was MOT’d when it came into the country with 96,045 kilometres on the clock, I believe this test was to do with the UK registration. It needed a number of mechanical faults rectifying, which were done to pass a second MOT in Feb 2015. It was then subject to a complete nut and bolt restoration during 2016/2017, include repaint using all original panels, engine, transmission & all suspension etc. The current owner purchased the car on completion of restoration in October 2017 and the car has covered less than 200 miles since. It is correctly registered in the UK with 1982 registration number. It was fitted with a UK MPH speedometer showing 58,000 miles which corresponds with 96,00 kilometres when imported. The old speedometer is with the car for verification. Everything about the car has been done correctly from import and shipping, through restoration and UK registration. This is a very genuine rust free first generation XR 3 which has been very carefully stored at a professional classic storage company.

The car is now serviced and MOT, until May 2024 with no advisories
