The vendor has sent in the following:

I purchased the car in June 2015 becoming the 5th owner from new. The previous owner had taken the car off road in 1990 to repair the car to pass the MOT, as it was a daily driver, but abondoned the work before he finished. After the car was stripped and the paint removed, it was evident that there was a lot of budging and copious amounts of filler, it was also clear the car needed lots more work than first thought.

Work began replacing the poorly repaired areas with good metal and cutting apart the welded together front and rear 'tubs' so they could be repaired and refitted with the nuts and bolts as originally done when new. Other areas like wheel arches needed attention and some repair work and strengthening was carried out to the chassis.

The front and rear body sections were then fitted to the chassis so spacers could be fitted to get good door gaps and the bonnet fitting well before holes were drilled to fix everything together, it was then disassembled and painted in the original red colour.

The last jobs included having the dash re-veneered and lacquered, fitted new front seat covers, carpets and finally, a new hood fitted to the old frame.

The car was used for its first show in July 2017 and has been great to use over the hot summer. The engine however developed a knock on starting and would lose power up long hills so the decision was taken to strip and repair. The engine has now had a rebore and new +30thou pistons, a reground crank, a new timing chain, oil pump, valves and valve guides and hardened seats. The engine now runs superbly.

Lots of work but the car now looks and drives like new.

Thankyou for stopping and looking.
