Frame purchased around 1980 and built up as a R75/6 with a 1974 motor.
Purchased in 1984 by third owner who sold it to Scarborough musician Barry “Baz” Hampshire later that year who owned it for 21 years before selling it to the current owner.
During this 18 year ownership a continuous programme of maintenance and improvement has been carried out including a replacement gearbox 20,000 miles ago, wheels rebuilt with stainless spokes and Boyer electronic ignition fitted. Recently a top end rebuild has been carried out with new valves, guides and rings fitted along with new discs, pads and tyres, 800 miles covered over the five years since. A new battery was fitted last year. (Spreadsheet included detailing expenses over this ownership)
There is a large box of parts including rear rack with soft panniers, Haynes and Clymer manuals, a large folder of receipts and a memory stick with 18 years of info and pics including parade laps of Olivers Mount at the Cock of the North meetings and the Airhead event held at Lincoln in 2018 where the bike was selected to represent the 1976 year. Also a couple of rosettes from local bike shows.
The bike is 100% reliable and I would have no worries setting off for another tour of Scotland.
