The vendor of this 1971 Citroen DS21 is the Bangers & Cash Restoring Classics team. They write:
This car intrigued us back in October 2023 with its curved edges, sofa-like seats and hydropneumatic suspension. We arguably paid more than we wanted for it at £16,000 but if each piece of paperwork which came with it was valued at £1 we bagged a bargain (and a lot paper)
We wanted this car to be looked over by those who were truly passionate about them - so we took it down to Pallas Autos in Kent. They gave us a list of suggestions for improvements and requirements but for this one we tried to stick to a budget! So the sofa-like seats and the non standard blue paint all remain. Most of our cash went on bringing the car back up to a good standard mechanically but kept a few Francs for the aesthetics.
Work completed (not an exhaustive list):
New fuel tank, pump and filter
Gold roof replaced with black vinyl
Uncovered the original steering wheel
Dashboard been totally removed and recommissioned
Fixed up the front bumper
Panel realignment
New wiring loom (we were told the other one was ready to set alight!)
TNB 462J sailed through an MOT and holds a clean sheet valid until June 2025.
Derek Mathewson remarked upon the interior exterior colour combination and enjoyed a 20 mile hitch free test drive through the North Yorkshire countryside.
Please Note: We take great pride in restoring our vehicles but they are classics and will no doubt have imperfections. Please do your own checks before bidding.
