The vendor has provided the following:

The vendor of this 1989 BMW 318i is the Bangers & Cash Restoring Classics team. They write:

It’s a high-mileage Mathewsonsim: ‘where are you going to find another one’ but when Paul yelled it across a freezing Pickering shed in reference to this late 80’s Yuppie icon we knew he was right.

One owner, less than 10,000 miles and standing as it left the dealer (it still had the original supplying plates) all those years ago.

It also had one of our favourite qualities…not starting!

We reckoned it would be a quick fix and if there’s anything we’ve learned from restoring all these cars it’s that we’ve learned nothing from restoring all these cars. So, we put our hand in our pocket and sealed the deal.

The car was towed (obviously) to the Classic Car Workshop in Croft. They confidently diagnosed the problem to be a faulty lift pump and a new one was ordered.

We braced ourselves for a further few weeks of fault finding but miraculously that was it! It had a quick oil and filter change, some new hub cap badges and the sound deadening under the bonnet was replaced.

The 318 now comes with 12 months MOT… all you need is your filofax, Jason Donovan cassette (Dolby B) and a carton of Um Bongo.

Please Note: We take great pride in restoring our vehicles but they are classics and will no doubt have imperfections. Please do your own checks before bidding.
