The vendor has provided the following:

Long before the Land Rover 90/Defender became a must-have fashion accessory in North London they were used by farmers in North Yorkshire…transporting sheep from the moor rather than vegan cutlets from Waitrose. Many of them have already been transformed into urban school-run taxis so when we found this totally original hardtop 90 we were having it. Next to Restoring Classics HQ is Viking 4x4, they live and breathe Land Rovers and were the perfect destination to fettle our purchase. Our biggest job was to stop F739’s old diesel engine from polluting the entire postcode on start-up. The decision was made to junk the old unit and replace it with a reconditioned 300 TDI and gearbox. Once we’d got it running smoothly and cleanly we could begin on the cosmetics. The hardtop was replaced with a much more marketable soft-top and Paul and Steve gave it some tasteful modifications that we believe will help recoup some of our not-insignificant costs. What we’ve created is a 90 that looks the part outside an Ilkley wine bar but is still very capable of heading home across the green lanes of the moor.

Work includes:

  • 300TDl Engine & R380 Gearbox
  • Brakes & axle refurb
  • Bodywork & paint
  • Soft top & roof stuck support
  • New black wheels & chunky tyres
  • Body bling & lights
  • lnterior mods & seats (inc red belts!)
  • New battery

F739 was given a fresh MOT and now stands ready for whatever the British countryside can throw at it. One of our production team drove it 40 miles to auction and stated that it handled very comfortably at motorway speeds with no warning lights etc. However, he did report the radio didn't work!

Please Note: We take great pride in restoring our vehicles but they are classics and will no doubt have
imperfections. Please do your own checks before bidding.
