The vendor has provided the following:

The car was originally purchased in 1929 by a Mr William Causley from Teignmouth, Devon on 9th July 1929.

There is no further information until it was purchased by a Mr A H Marriott from Parkstone, Dorest in 1984. Mr Marriott began the restoration of the cat but never completed it.

In 2013 the car was purchased by Black and White Garage in Devon, who completed the restoration.

I have spoken to the restorers at Black and White, and they told me they decided they wanted to give the car a paint color to really make it stand out. There are a lot of colours thrown about, but one of the mechanics happened to be eating a chocolate bar, and that is why the colour they decided to give it is "Cadbury Purple" which does make it pretty unique in its own way.

I have always loved the Austin Chummy, and when I retired I decided to look for one. My husband found this car on the website of Kevin Lawton Vintage Classic Car Specialist in Warnford, Southampton.

As purple has always been my favorite colour, this little car was perfect and we purchased it in January 2020. I wanted to give her a name, so as the registration begins with DV we decided on

"La Dolce Vita" which means " The good life" which is exactly how you feel when you are driving her.
