The vendor has provided the following:
The vendor of this 1981 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit is the Bangers & Cash Restoring Classics team. They write:
Fancy convincing the neighbours you’ve won the lottery for Dacia Sandero money?
That’s exactly what we thought when we saw this Silver Spirit sitting proudly behind a collection of suped-up 90s superminis in Pickering …and with an agreed price of just 13k - we reckoned we’d snapped up a royal bargain.
Displaying just over 7500 miles we thought it would be in tip-top condition and that no horror stories would await us underneath..the last four series of programmes have told us that doesn’t always go to plan.
But guess what? We were right!
We transported our majestic motor down to Hillier Hill - a Rolls and Bentley specialist in Buckinghamshire. They gave it a high end service and mechanical overhaul - they were very impressed with the car for its age but told us it needed some brushing up in terms of maintenance.
Work completed on the car:
The car has also undergone a two stage detail procedure, to include cutting, refining and polishing the paintwork. The coachlines have been repainted by hand, just as they would have been in the Rolls Royce factory, and some of the sumptuous leather has been re-connolised where required.
The car comes with period paperwork and the crew at Hillier Hill even managed to source the original build sheet for this very car!
MOA 868X is now a car we are very proud of. It boasts a clean 12 month MOT and exudes 80’s British elegance from every panel. We have filmed the car restoration work as part of a new series of Bangers & Cash: Restoring Classics.
Just a final word on the colour…. If you’re allergic to maroon you may need to invest in some sunglasses…or a tin of paint.
Please Note: We take great pride in restoring our vehicles but they are classics and will no doubt have imperfections. Please do your own checks before bidding.
