The vendor has provided the following:

It wasn’t the gravel-spitting, be-spoilered, turbo-fuelled Impreza that catapulted the Subaru brand in the UK but a dinky pick-up with 14 inch steelies and an 1800cc normally aspirated engine.

The Subaru 284 was the ultimate trusty farmhand, a regular sight halfway up a sheep fell or on an A road taking chickens to market.

Its party-trick was a legendary, unstoppable 4WD system which would eventually adorn the walls of teenage boys in Legacy shell and 555 livery.

Unfortunately, the pick-ups disappeared quicker than an agricultural inheritance tax break, rust was its nemesis.

So the phrase ‘find another one’ has never been more appropriate.

This M-reg wonder at Mathewsons had plenty of signs of agri-life but looked surprisingly solid.

Off it went to Graham Walkers in Cheshire who specialised in Subarus of that era.

Work included:

  • Rust removal and welding
  • Carb rebuild
  • Engine service
  • Refurbished drivers seat
  • Handmade tailgate runners
  • 3D printed trim parts
  • New decals
  • Custom made stainless steel exhaust
  • Full valet and polish

The 284 comes with 12 Months MOT.

Please Note: We take great pride in restoring our vehicles but they are classics and will no doubt have imperfections. Please do your own checks before bidding.
