Back in our July auction the Bangers & Cash team spotted this weary-looking but rarely seen 175cc CZ Trail bike and snapped it up for their new restoration show. It is now back having been totally refurbed and a very well sorted machine. We are told it is in impeccable working order.

The pictures & video tell the story. They’ve done a great job, come and view it at our Thornton-le-Dale site.

The Bangers team writes:

Trusted motorcycle restorers Rob Carter and Brian Gould have worked their engineering magic on this one for us . We’ve spent around £4,500 on it, and to be honest, that doesn’t cover half the amount of skill, time and effort that’s been put into it. We would keep this now rather special and rare machine if we could, but that wouldn’t get a TV show made for this summer!

We wanted to create a bike to be used, not only for green laning but for getting you from town to country in the first place. So this CZ is road legal, does around 70-80 miles to the gallon and even has lights to get you home safely. With its trademark CZ dual kickstart gear lever this trail veteran is as strong as a tank, looks spectacular, is a mechanical delight and stands firmly apart from the crowd.

Work done includes:
Upper forks remade in hard chrome by Philpots of Luton.
Lower forks, headlamp trim, exhaust front pipe, kickstart gear lever and handlebars all re-chromed.
Frame repainted in black.
Complete respray of original yellow panels with original decals carefully left in place.
Fuel tank thoroughly cleaned and restored inside.
Non-original fuel line filter added as an additional precaution.
Shock absorbers repaired or replaced with original CZ parts where required.
Original seat deep cleaned.
Barum original tyres have had inner tubes and valves replaced for safety.
Original embossed aluminium number plate reconditioned.
Original instrument binnacle reconditioned and looks as new.
Fully serviced and now running very sweetly.

V5 present.

It has 694 miles on the clock and we believe that is genuine.
