The vendor has provided the following:

Most of the Cortina fraternity know that my car is a full nut and bolt Restoration by Stuart Bird of CC Restorations

Bought the car 14 years ago with the mindset of producing the best car I possibly could with a completely open budget.

From the number of prior owners all around the Bristol area all doing a bit to her then flipping her on I set about looking for the best company to complete the works of a complete nut and bolt restoration with my commitment to using only NOS parts and panels throughout. She was going to be my Cinderella and boy did she go to the ball.

After discussions with both Cortina clubs Stuart Bird at CC Restorations name came up time after time and was selected as the expert in mark 2 Cortinas and clearly the best decision I made.

So much so when I transported the car from Essex to Somerset the amazing thing was Stuart Bird had actually owned the car.

So after keeping her nice and warm and dry in storage for 7 years we were finally underway.

Utilising both Cortina clubs for N.O.S parts and a lengthy drive to the Czech Republic to purchase every nos body panel, inner panels, chassis legs, front grille the lot from a club member out there who bought out a Ford dealership back in the day.

The engine, gearbox and rear axle were all reconditioned and a brand new prop shaft was made.

As a result you are looking at an amazing car from top to bottom which I can take no credit in other than making sure I bought the best for her.

Initially not being one for shows as a family and in the sunshine only we would use her and enjoy her as often as the weather would allow.

Members of the Cortina fraternity would ask me to bring her to their shows. We did and on both occasions at both independent Cortina club nationals we left with 6 trophies from each, which are in a box in the boot. In the boot are all the trophies the car has won at the Nationals and at Gaydon where she won best post-war car in the show over 5000 Fords.

The last show we were asked to do was the Gaydon Classic Old Ford Show. So we took her up to that on my transporter because she was our gorgeous little trolly Dolly and actually won the Best Post War Ford in show. The trophy for that is also in the boot.

For me that was one of the best accolades I could have hoped for, Ford judges selecting my car recognising my commitment to our car.

Initially from the very start of all this my dream was to build a car that was near perfection that would be selected by a car magazine and photographed that I could walk into WH Smiths and see it front cover on the magazine rack.

There’s copies of that achievement in the boot of the car also.
