Lot details

Make: BMW
Model: R60
Registration: TLD 802R
Engine Size (cc): 599
Current Speedometer Reading: 15000
Year of Manufacture: 1977
Date First Registered: 01/04/1977
Current V5: YES
Location: PICKERING

Current V5 present - paperwork includes previous partial V5's, various MOT certificates, old tax disc, various receipts and invoices.

The vendor has supplied the following: BMW R60/7 1977 & STEIB S 500 1960 sidecar. I bought the combo approx two years ago from an eighty year old ex mechanic who specialises in BMW combos, he had completely rebuilt both the bike and sidecar in the last few years including upgrading the engine to 800cc, replacing the bing carbs for Makunis, electronic ignition etc. (he never reset the mileage after the rebuild but we estimate it has now done 15000 miles since rebuild). I have since driven some 3000 kms around Portugal and Andalucia, replacing the starter in Lisbon (the old one is in the boot) also a full service and new rear tire and extension sump were fitted. I intended fitting replacement fork springs (£60 pair from Flatracer) but didn't have time to do so. To start the bike, open chokes and very little throttle, she usually starts very easily.

To start the bike -The petrol cap isn't locked (might be low on petrol) turn on both fuel taps, turn on ignition, green light is on for neutral, open both chokes on carbs, up is choke open, red button is starter, red switch is kill button. Usually starts easily with very little throttle, run for a while and push choke levers back down.

We have now had the bike running.
