The vendor of this 1991 Nissan Figaro is the Bangers & Cash Restoring Classics team. They write:
We’ve kept hold of this little Figaro for quite some time. We purchased it from Mathewsons auctions in December 2022 in the knowledge it may never make it onto the programme because a certain member of the team (big boss Andy) had quite the soft spot for it. Fast forward to September 2023 - we needed that car as some of our other restorations were taking a little bit longer than expected and we have a TV production schedule to hit! So, we prized it from Andy’s hands and got to work on what was required.
Before us, the Figaro only had 1 owner in the UK and had been very well looked after since it was imported in 2007. The 1.0 turbo engine pulled very well and the gear change was reassuringly smooth. Nevertheless there were still some obvious jobs to do so we sent it down the road to The Motorist.
Mechanical/safety work included:
Cosmetic work included:
The car has been given a full machine polish to bring out its ‘Lapis Grey’ colour (the ‘winter’ paint option of the 4 available) as well as full valet and detail for the interior and chrome.
It comes with a clean MOT until January 2025 and will arrive on someone’s drive just in time for the better weather we’ve all ordered.
Please Note: We take great pride in restoring our vehicles but they are classics and will no doubt have imperfections. Please do your own checks before bidding.
