The vendor of this 1992 Fiat Panda is the Bangers & Cash Restoring Classics team. They write:

For five years the Mathewsons have said to our crew: “Why are you shelling out all this cash for restorations, just give it a go yourself and you’ll make a mint”

With this sage and money-spinning advice we thought: “How hard can it be”?

A TV cameraman and a producer put down their £4 vegan lattes, picked up grubby mugs of sugary tea (along with a few spanners) and set to work.

First problem that needed solving, our Panda wasn’t producing all 44 of its mighty BHPs. Easy! Let’s change the spark plugs John.

5 hours and 20 savaged knuckles later we’d managed to remove the spark plug….well half of it anyway.

Off it went, on a trailer, to a restorer, no longer running and with half a plug stuck in the block. It was the most shameful of arrivals.

After the apparently hilarious banter had died down The Motorist got on with fixing our mess. Fortunately, they didn’t seem to employ any clueless chumps and now it’s running perfectly boasting a 12 month MOT with no advisories.
