Current V5 present. Paperwork includes an current MOT certificate, a previous V5, old tax discs, a framed print, old tax discs, and various invoices for parts and work carried out.

The vendor has supplied the following:

The vendor of this 1972 Honda C70 is the Bangers & Cash: Restoring Classics team. They write:

There can’t be many inches of this planet left that haven’t been ridden over by a Honda Super Cub moped. No other form of motorised transport can come close to the sales figures of the Honda …in production since 1958 it had clocked up 100 million units by 2017!

So when we saw this indisputable legend, looking slightly beaten in the corner of a Pickering shed we knew we could transform it into a Bangers champ.

Honda’s C came in various capacities between 50cc and 100cc and all seemingly just at home delivering a family bucket in Newcastle or a family of four in New Delhi (don’t try this at home).

Ours was a C70, good for about 6 BHP and even capable of generating the odd invitation to a speed awareness course…with a tailwind and a helpful hill (don’t try this at home).

We went back to Bangers HQ very happy with a hammer price of just £1900.

On the banks of the Humber crack restorers Rob and Brian share our taste in unloved and over-looked bikes and the C70 was right up their oil-stained drive. After the history lecture of how it was designed to be ridden with one hand to deliver noodles (don’t try this at home) they cracked on with what they do best.

Work included :

  • New front and rear wheel assemblies
  • New shockers
  • New leg shields
  • Replacement side panel
  • New chrome mirrors
  • New exhaust
  • New battery
  • Replacement decals
  • A full respray

Unsurprisingly, there will be those (mainly Caroline and Lelsey who attempt to balance our books) who will feel we have spent far too much time and effort on a mediocre moped, if you love your classic bikes go and see it - we think you’ll think we have done justice to the most successful motor vehicle in the world.

Please Note: We take great pride in restoring our vehicles but they are classics and will no doubt have imperfections. Please do your own checks before bidding.
