Absolutely stunning competition spec and race prepared Caterham 7 replica Sylva Striker.
The car was constructed between 1990 and 1992 by a retired engineer to a fantastic standard and his quality of workmanship still shows to this day.
The car is fitted with a competition spec 1300cc Ford Crossflow engine with a 711 block and twin 40 Dellorto carburettors mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The full specification of the engine is extensive & documented.
First road registered in 1992 the car received minimal use until it took part in national sprint/hillclimb events through the NSCC. Several minor tweaks and adjustments make the car suitable and set about competing. The car was always very competitive in its day, would out perform and out handle much more expensive, higher powered vehicles and earned numerous trophies and titles.
It was last used competitively in September 2003, the car was then put into a garage and rarely saw the light of day, in fact it has only covered in the region of 700 miles in the last 15 years.
Last year the car came out of storage and was recommissioned purely for fun Sunday runs out. The brakes were overhauled, engine fully serviced and tuned by a local specialist and given a general tidy up, it was then MOT’d and ran on the occasional sunny day.
