1974 Rover P6 3500S Manual Estate (Estoura) only 69000 miles.
This vehicle will be offered for sale in due course.
This is one of only eight built using 3500 engine coupled with a manual gearbox (S specification) and we believe there are only now 4 left in existence. Finished in Almond paintwork, black vinyl roof with black box pleat leather interior.
The car has had 4 former keepers with the last keeper owning it for 35 years. The V5c is present and there is a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate and a copy of the DVLA keeper records.
The car is MOT’d till 27th March 2018 and has the benefit of having an SD1 5 speed gearbox fitted to it so fuel consumption is greatly improved, for those wishing total originality, the original 4 speed gearbox comes with the car. The car also has a leather Motolite steering wheel fitted but again the original steering wheel comes with the car.
This car was the subject of a nut and bolt restoration from 2004 to 2008 which was carried out by Rover P6 specialists J P Restorations of Rossendale, Lancs with receipts for this work in excess of £22000 plus many photographs of the work carried out. At around this time, as well as the fitting of the 5 speed gearbox, the original V8 engine also received a rebuild and was upgraded to electronic ignition. The interior of the car is in excellent presentable condition although it did suffer from a common problem, this being the seat bolster on the drivers seat showed signs of wear due to entry and exit of the vehicle by the driver, this has now been restored. In the last 2 months it has had a new uprated radiator, front inertia seatbelts, new sunvisors and new rubber rear load liner to protect the carpet. The wheels on the vehicle are the original steel wheels with S style wheel stylers, again original and come with a good set of tyres. The car has power steering as standard and the braking system in the car and the power from the V8 engine is well able to cope with modern day driving. All in all the car is a real pleasure to drive and starts, drives and performs as it should. It comes with a period, standard, medium wave/ long wave radio. All controls and electrics work as they should. It has a working electric sunroof with no leaks. It has an owners handbook and a spare set of keys.
This car has attended various classic car events around the country and has also been the subject of various magazine articles, which will be supplied with the car. There is also a you tube video showing the car on the P6 Rover Owners Club stand at the NEC Classic Motor Show Birmingham 2011
