The vendor has provided the following:

This was original registered in Southend-on-Sea to the Director of a building company in 1966 with the registration plate OWC 823D.

In 1969 it was purchased by John Herbert Crotch, a Solicitor/Farmer living in Norfolk. At that time he was looking for a Pagoda so when he eventually found one this car was driven into a garage on his farm where it remained for 14 years.

John Herbert Crotch was my employer. He was aware my husband, was interested in the car and in 1988, John sold it to my husband £500.

The car was in a sorry state when it was brought home on a low loader.

My husband was keen to start work needed which included a rear window, bumpers repaired and re-chromed plus work to the engine and gearbox. The rear window was bought from a dealer of secondhand Mercedes spares in Cheltenham and brought home on the roof of my son's car in a sleeping bag! I know and understand little of the mechanics of a car but I remember the car still had the original petrol in it which smelled vile. My husband took the petrol pump to a company in Norwich and was served by an elderly gentleman who commented that he hadn't seen one like that for years but he wasn't sure he could get it running which he did!

It took my husband a year to finish the work on the car. When the time came for it to be started, my son and myself stood close by with fire extinguishers just in case!

Throughout its life with us my husband has regularly service the car using synthetic oil and changing the oil filter every time. It has never failed an MOT.

We went on many rallies with the car plus classic car shows. It was even used as a wedding car for family members and friends.

It is with a heavy heart I am selling the car and hope whoever buys her gets as much fun and enjoyment out of her as both myself and my husband did.
