**SOLD** 1969 Rover P5B Motor Caravan

Description

1969 Rover P5B Motor Caravan

The vendor has kindly supplied the following:

Purchased in 2015 from Silverstone Auction, this totally unique vehicle is a one off conversion built in 1971 when the car was just 2 years old.

The original owner wanted to travel with his family without having to tow a caravan so had the conversion carried out to his own spec by a firm of local coach builders. It was successfully used for many years before the auto box gave up and it ended up abandoned  in a sand quarry in the 1980’s /early 1990’s.

It was then restored and used again through the 1990’s right up until 2014.

The camper was in a sorry state when we purchased it so we took on a total restoration, stripping back to a bare skeleton - not being professional restorers, this was quite a task!

It now has all mod cons and refinements you'd expect to find in a modern campervan, yet retains the truly classic beauty of Rover's beautiful P5B Coupe! We also totally rebuilt the engine and running gear and the cab bodywork.

We have used the car for the last 5 years and it’s well known at shows across the country as well as the big NEC classic and restoration shows.

Please note that descriptions are produced from information provided by the vendors. We highly recommend that you view in person any potential purchase and take time to inspect paperwork - please call us to arrange an appointment on 01751 477555. Thank you
