**SOLD** 1957 Wolseley 1500 'Orville'

1957 Wolseley 1500 'Orville'

The vendor has supplied the following information.

Offered for sale is this wonderful & very original Wolseley 1500, finished in it's original shade of Yukon Grey & delightful red & grey interior. Built on the 15th of November 1957 & supplied by Parker Thomas & Company of Portsmouth to it's first owner on the 22nd of November '57, this car was built just seven months into production of the 1500 so it is a rare Mk1 version.

It is a well-known car with Wolseley enthusiasts as it was formerly owned by Geoff Craggs who was the chairman of the Wolseley register & then subsequently owned by Dick Peters & features in his book "Wolseley 1500: A profile" .

A copy of this book comes with the car as does numerous other documentation including a Heritage certificate, workshop manual, owners handbook, et cetera. Although it is no longer required to have an MOT test it has been tested regardless & it's current MOT expires on the 14th of November 2020.

The current mileage shows just 29,273 & every indication suggests this is genuine & it runs & drives exactly as one would expect. The original Portsmouth issue registration is transferable although if someone were to remove it, I'd wish to see them have a fair trial & then be shot! The registration also gives rise to its affectionate name of Orville.
