1970 Excalibur Roadster

*ORIGINALLY OWNED BY ROY ORBISON*

Roy Orbison was an American singer, songwriter, and musician known  as the "the Big O".

He performed standing still, wearing black clothes to match his dyed black hair and dark sunglasses.

22 of his singles reached the Top 40 with "Only the Lonely"  "Crying" & "Oh Pretty Woman" being the most well known.

In 1988, he co-founded the Traveling Wilburys, a rock supergroup, with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Jeff Lynne.

Tragically Orbison died of a heart attack in December 1988 at the age of just 52. One month later, Orbison's song "You Got It" was released as a solo single and became his first hit to reach the U.S. Top 10 in nearly 25 years.

We have paperwork from the 'Excalibur Automobile Corporation' stating that the original purchaser of car serial number 701170 Excalibur SS Roadster was Mr Orbison.

Fitted with 350ci Motor producing 370bhp mated to a 4 speed M20 transmission.

Finished in Aspen White with saddle trim and 'Corvette' seats.

Arguably a piece of motoring history.
