1975 MG B GT Jubilee

1975 MG B GT Jubilee

The vendor has kindly supplied the following:

A genuine garage find car having 2 previous owners and been in a domestic garage since 1987. The car is a 1975 MGB GT Jubilee edition 1 of only 750 made.  It is very sound I can’t find any structural problems the only obvious rust is a few bits at bottom of the wheel arches and a few rust spots at odd places on the bodywork.

The doors shut really well and the fit is like new. The doors don’t have any rust problems. The engine turns freely the fuel lines are full of stale fuel residue so can’t run it however we have injected a bit of petrol in the air intakes and it starts for a few seconds.

The brakes work. It was stored with the handbrake off so no problem with sticky rear brakes. All the electrics work including the radio. It still has the original jack looks like it’s never been used. We have the original V5 and the speedo reads just over 60,000 miles (please make your own enquiries)

Some history:

Purchased new 1975. The second owner bought her 1977 the year he qualified as a Doctor. He went on to become a surgeon and the President of “The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh” The car was laid up in full running order in the garage of his parents in 1987 when he went overseas for a number of years. On his return due to a busy lifestyle he never got around to re-commissioning it. It was discovered when on the death of his parents the house was sold.

It will make a very easy restoration project to get it roadworthy depending how much of the original appearance one would want to keep.
