1970 Rover P5B

Description

**SOLD**

1970 Rover P5B

The vendor has supplied the following information.

  • 1970s Rover P5B saloon with the heavenly sound of that lightweight Buick 3.5 V8 under the hood. These are becoming rarer and rarer with only 250 still on the road according to DVLA.
This car is in great condition, a very nice cruising classic, with a gorgeous sheen on the Zircon Blue paint. There are so many features that make this a completely unique Rover. Inside we have a spectacular custom Rolls Royce interior - the leather smell is intoxicating! The headlining is perfect with not a single mark. The Zircon Blue is a rare colour for these cars, this one is so original it has the colour sticker still on the engine bay. It comes with a boot full of spares - filters/wiring/belts and the original pump and umbrella.  All the internal clocks are working.
  • So much work undertaken to keep it in this condition: Rebuilt gearbox, Wilton carpet throughout - including the boot! New brakes, callipers, alternator, servo, pipes, water pump fitted in last few years.
Full engine tune including the carbs and ignition set up was done about 4 years ago and it hasn't missed a beat. It is a first time, every time starter and just wafts around the lanes.
Just had it all sealed underneath - garage had it up on the ramps and all looks good underneath - but with some deterioration now on the bottom of the doors and bubbling around the arches. The engine bay is spotless.
Thousands have been spent on the car over the last ten years - all of which is recorded in a massive set of files.
It has aftermarket rear seatbelts fitted and two horns - a standard fit and then a wonderful air horn for making people's day as you 'parp' past.
  • Now tax and MOT free - has always been garaged and covered in my ownership. Driven when dry only. She has amazing history which is fully documented. She was first owned and registered to Lady Zia Werhner CBE, otherwise known as Countess Anastasia de Torbay, the elder daughter of Grand Duke Michael of Russia, the grandson of Tsar Nicholas I of Russia and a member of the Russian Imperial family.
